Javier Campopiano, Omnicom’s global chief creative officer, will depart the world’s biggest holdco at the end of the month.
Omnicom has no plans to replace his role after he departs, according to AdWeek.
The Argentine creative took over in December as the newly merged Omnicom’s global CCO. Before that, he previously led creative for IPG’s McCann Worldgroup and McCann Worldwide.
Prior to that, Campopiano served as McCann’s global creative leader from 2023, where he played a key role in driving the network’s global growth and creative reputation. During his tenure, McCann won major clients including Ferrero, Ikea, Peroni Nastro Azzurro and LinkedIn, while also producing a Cannes Lions Grand Prix and Titanium-winning campaigns for brands such as Xbox and L’Oréal.
He took to LinkedIn to confirm the news.
“Amigas and amigos: yes, it’s true.’ I am leaving Omnicom at the end of the month,” wrote Campopiano.
The creative is yet to announce what is next in his career.
“I want to focus my energy more intentionally on specific projects and being even closer to the ideas. And I want to enjoy it even more, which for me means doing more work and getting my hands dirtier.
“I won’t say more now. Today is about saying goodbye, a short but heartfelt “Ciao”.
“I will share some news soon.”
His departure comes just six months after Omnicom swallowed up IPG Mediabrands, a merger that helped drive the holdco to $6.2 billion (AUD $8.7 billion) in revenue for the first quarter of 2026. Omnicom said the growth was primarily driven by the acquisition.
