There’s clearly something in the water at OMD! The media agency, bouyed by a raft of new wins, has stormed to the top of R3’s New Business League for Aussie agencies for the month of April.
On Monday, the agency announced it had won the media business for Coles from UM, on Wednesday it then announced it had retained the Village Roadshow business, and yesterday it added the lucrative Wesfarmers/Target account to its roster, again winning the business from UM.
The New Business League is published monthly by marketing efficiency company R3 and looks at agency performance and marketing ROI for clients.
The table is compiled using data supplied by 26 multinational agencies on a monthly basis. The company also measures the data against client estimates and Nielsen data.
The data for April 2016 showed OMD in the number one spot, up from second last momth, with the wins outlined above plus Volvo Trucks and Sony Music.
GroupM relinquished its number one spot it earned in March and moved back to second but still managed to secure Westpac’s media.
Carat, despite some impressive wins, dropped one spot to third on the list despite winning Greenstone, Bailey Nelson, Baptcare and the Grocery Council of Western Australia. That said, Carat laid claim to 28 new business wins month-on-month.
There was no startling movements either up or down in this month’s stats with the biggest movement being Maxus who dropped four spots from seventh to eleventh in the rankings.
