British music festival Wireless has been cancelled as its headliner Kanye ‘Ye’ West has his UK visa revoked.
The initial announcement of Ye as the headline act triggered mass fallout from the festival’s main sponsors. Sponsors including Pepsi, Paypal, Diageo and Rockstar Energy did not want to be associated with the disgraced rapper and his past anti-Semitic remarks.
Wireless confirmed its cancellation online and said it was due to West having his visa revoked.

In a more lengthy statement to the Guardian, Wireless festival elaborated: “As with every Wireless festival, multiple stakeholders were consulted in advance of booking Ye and no concerns were highlighted at the time. Antisemitism in all its forms is abhorrent, and we recognise the real and personal impact these issues have had.
“As Ye said today, he acknowledges that words alone are not enough, and in spite of this still hopes to be given the opportunity to begin a conversation with the Jewish community in the UK.”
West continued: “My only goal is to come to London and present a show of change, bringing unity, peace, and love through my music”.
“I would be grateful for the opportunity to meet with members of the Jewish community in the UK in person, to listen.
“I know words aren’t enough – I’ll have to show change through my actions.
“If you’re open, I’m here.” he added.
The British Prime Minister called West’s selection as a headline act in the festival “deeply concerning,” adding: “Kanye West [Ye’s former name] should never have been invited to headline Wireless.”
A parody social media page went viral on Tuesday Morning after posting a spoof statement claiming Coca-Cola would be replace Pepsi as the festivals main sponsor. This is confirmed to have been a satirical post with no validity.
Coca-Cola will be stepping in as the new sponsor for Wireless Festival following Pepsi’s recent withdrawal
