KFC has revealed actor George Hamilton as the shiny new sun-kissed Colonel for the chicken company’s new crispy ads in the US.
The ads are specifically for the fast food brand’s Extra Crispy range. This makes Hamilton the first product specific Colonel, reports US trade media publication AdAge.

There’s been much conversation in the social media sphere, mainly about the colour of the Colonel’s skin – it’s extra crispy.
KFC has hired a new Colonel Sander’s. It’s George Hamilton! He’s perfect because he’s the only human whose skin is actually extra crispy.

KFC is no stranger to new Colonels though, having changed actors numerous times over the past years.
Still, Greg Creed – CEO of KFC’s parent company Yum! Brands – doesn’t seem to be bothered by the hoopla surrounding each change, given a number of people he said are dressing up as Colonel Sanders for Halloween – adults and children.
“They’re actually talking about KFC,” Creed said. “And you can market to love and hate; you cannot market to indifference.”
