Tired of hearing of The Block’s nightly triumphs? Well, avert your gaze now as B&T reveals it did 1.068 million last night and was again the most watched show of the evening.

In more troubling news, Seven’s Joel Creasy-led dating show Take Me Out had a disappointing debut considering the pre-PR hype and prime time slot, posting just 604,000 lovelorn viewers. Admittedly, the numbers don’t include Seven’s catch-up 7plus, where the show is expected to do well.

The Block-led Nine won the night with 29.3 per cent, while Seven had to settle for 26 per cent. The ABC again claimed third in the tightest of margins, pipping Ten 19.4 per cent to 19.2 per cent respectively. SBS took home 6.2 per cent.

As usual, the ABC’s Monday night of news and current affairs did well, led by a resurgent Q&A (510,000) that had one of its better nights in a long while thanks to a rancorous display by ‘shock jock’ Alan Jones.

The ABC’s other stand outs included its 7pm news (777,000), 7.30 (739,000), Australian Story (694,000), Four Corners (598,000) and Media Watch (544,000).

Nine’s other shows of note included its 6pm news (987,000), ACA (828,000), Doctor Doctor (647,000) and Hot Seat (546,000).

For Seven, its best was its 6pm news (1.044 million), Home And Away (691,000) and The Chase (603,000).

Ten relied on Have You Been Paying Attention? (774,000), Survivor (640,000) and The Project (554,000).

SBS’s best was Empire Of The Tsars with 205,000.
