Tapt Media—the former Nine radio business that was recently sold to pub baron Arthur Laundy—has promoted Brisbane sales director Michael ‘MG’ Graham to the newly created position of national trading director.
The move aims to modernise how the network prices and packages its inventory, driving broader revenue growth across both broadcast and digital platforms. Tapt Media, which was bought by Laundy for $56 million, is comprised of talkback stations 2GB (Sydney), 3AW (Melbourne), 4BC (Brisbane) and 6PR (Perth).
Graham takes on the national brief immediately while remaining in his current role leading the Brisbane sales team. He will continue to report directly to executive leadership.
In this newly-established position, Graham will work closely with state sales directors, digital, traffic, commerce, and the sports and commercial partnerships teams to ensure Tapt Media’s full product suite is priced for market growth.
He will also oversee consortium arrangements and collaborate with the digital team for “seamless” cross-platform buying. A key priority will be guiding the business towards the dynamic, flexible trading of its live radio spots, bringing traditional broadcast buying in line with modern digital capabilities.
“The structure MG is introducing will directly support our front-line sales teams, putting us in a prime position to grow both our revenue and our market share. We offer our full support and congratulations to MG as he takes on this crucial national brief”, said Tapt Media chief commercial officer Brian Gallagher.
Commenting on his expanded brief, Graham highlighted the company’s strong trajectory in the changing media landscape.
“Tapt Media is well positioned to lead the continued growth in audio and ensure we provide market-leading solutions for our partners via considered and results-driven trading outcomes,” Graham said.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute to our trading strategy and maximise our revenue potential, particularly with our Premium offering and the ever-evolving collaboration with our full suite of audio products.”
