Michael Hill Australia has begun a media agency review, B&T can reveal. The incumbent, OMD, has decided not to re-pitch for the account.
Michael Hill is believed to spend north of $25 million in media billings each year.
Several sources confirmed the review to B&T, which has approached Michael Hill for comment.
Michael Hill was established by Michael and Christine Hill in Whangārei, New Zealand in 1979. It has grown to 270 stores in New Zealand, Australia, and Canada, with nearly 150 stores in Australia.
Michael Hill chief marketing officer Jo Feeney, who joined in 2021 from McDonald’s where she was CMO, has transformed the business from a value jewellery outfit into a more upmarket offering, including a brand and store refresh in partnership with Clemenger BBDO (then CHEP Network).
Miranda Kerr was brought on as a brand ambassador and Michael Hill has increased the average value per transaction by more than a third in the past five years.
