Tech giant Meta have shared two new ads through which they hope to provide some insight on how people will be able to interact with the metaverse and come closer to one another at the same time.
The first ad, titled “The Impact Will be Real”, focuses on those aspects of the metaverse that can be applied to the professional and educational field. The ad begins with what appears to be a professor giving a lecture when suddenly he makes a cell appear in his hand. He then passes on the cell to some of the attendees to examine.
The ad moves on to a doctor wearing a VR headset and some other equipment on her fingertips, through which she performs a virtual surgery, successfully making an aortic valve incision, as can been seen by the little tick she is given.
Finally, we are transferred to ancient times, in what can only be ancient Greece or Rome, with a group of schoolkids moving closer to eavesdrop on an argument between philosophers or politicians of an age long past.
The second of Meta’s new metaverse-focused ads is called “Fishing with Dad” and as the title suggests, focuses on a girl who wants to go fishing with her father. He can be seen at home while the girl is out surfing at the beach. But, thanks to Meta’s VR headset and controllers, they can both be transported to a lake, where their avatars can do all the fishing for them.

It’s pretty much the same, only through the comfort of their own home or personal area.
Through this new campaign, Meta hopes to clear out some of the confusion that has been created regarding the metaverse and what its all about, showing that it can have many practical applications within our everyday lives.
Despite the fact that Reality Labs, the division responsible for the development of all metaverse and VR/AR-related projects has been hit with severe cutbacks due to Meta’s recent financial struggles, the company is still moving forward with their plans to become one of the main players in the next stage of technological advancements.
