M&C Saatchi’s Annalise Brown Named Chair Of PR Council

Annalise Brown, founder of M&C Saatchi Group’s PR firm Hidden Characters, has been appointed chair of the Public Relations Council (PRC) and as a board member of The Communications Council (TCC).

Prior to joining M&C Saatchi, Brown worked as the managing director at Porter Novelli Australia, Spin Communications and Splendid Communications.

Brown said in a statement that she was honoured to be appointed chair of the PRC.

“TCC’s PR representative member council plays an important role not only in raising industry standards through professional development, events and mentoring, but also in representing the interests of consumer PR agencies and the specific issues facing industry professionals today in this ever-changing communications landscape,” she said.

“I am looking forward to continuing this work in 2017.”

TCC chief executive Tony Hale said the council was delighted that Brown has accepted the role.

“She has been an important committee member and PRC advocate,” he said.

“We have a great calendar of activity planned for 2017 and look forward to driving the future of our industry further.”

Brown takes on the role from Res Publica co-founder and managing director Melissa Cullen, who has held the position since December 2014.

Hale thanked Cullen for the “passion, commitment and tenacity” she demonstrated throughout her tenure as chair of the PRC.

“Melissa has played an instrumental role in building the PRC’s reputation as an industry leader that progresses the interests of PR professionals nationwide,” he said.
