Listnr has today announced the launch of a new podcast, The Penny Drops, which follows former reality star, Matthew ‘Matty J’ Johnson in his quest to understand the world of finance.
CommBank has sponsored Matty J in his initiative to become more financially savvy and taking millennial audiences along for the ride in the podcast.
The Penny Drops is a podcast series that aims to have Matty J and listeners finally understand the one thing that makes the world go round…err, money.
Across six episodes, experts will unpack all the essentials – money personalities, financial planning, budgeting, juggling finances with your partner to buy a house, investing, and superannuation.
In The Penny Drops, Matty J will also talk to CommBank experts, plus experts in their fields including financial commentator Effie Zahos, financial planner Adam Montana, and Elisabeth Shaw, CEO of Relationships Australia, with the aim of educating himself and listeners.
“Prior to partnering with CommBank on this podcast, I had literally no idea how to write a budget, set financial goals, invest or even where my super was. But after talking to experts on these topics, I feel much more educated and excited for other millennials to follow my journey in this space getting well versed in the world of finance too,” said Matty J.
SCA head of commercial – podcasts and partnerships, Kim Norman, said, “We are delighted to work with Matty J on The Penny Drops, he can speak to the large millennial audience on their level and explain the often-complex topic of finance. The Penny Drops is a clever and premium podcast that talks about the real financial issues that most Australians are faced with.”
The Penny Drops launches today on Listnr, and new episodes will be released weekly from 15 March
