Lisa Ronson, chief marketing officer of Medibank, has tragically passed away following an accident on her farm near Daylesford in Victoria.
Ronson was one of Australia’s most widely lauded marketers having led marketing for the likes of Tourism Australia and Coles to remarkable success.
During her time at Tourism Australia, she led the marketing team to numerous Cannes Lions awards, including much acclaim for the famous Dundee campaign by Droga5 and starring Chris Hemsworth and Danny McBride.
She led Coles’ marketing team through the pandemic, starting at the grocer in April 2019 and departing in May last year.
In July, it was announced that Ronson would become Medibank’s chief marketer. She also served as a director for Wheelchair Rugby Australia, an adjunct professor at the Deakin Business School, an investor and advisor for startup business Journey Maker and served on the AANA board.
“I want to give back to the industry, I really feel fortunate to work in the industry and to have worked with some of the very best people that I still remain friends with,” Ronson spoke to B&T last week as part of the upcoming CMO Power List.
“I have a very healthy dose of appreciation. I help out where I can and to help young marketers come up through the ranks is really important to me. Mentoring is important to me because it has helped me through my career. I like to give back to the industry.”
Ronson is survived by her husband Chris and son Ben. The entire B&T team would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to Ronson’s loved ones and friends at this difficult time.
