Integrated communication agency WE Buchan has strengthened its Digital and Consumer practices with the appointments of international PR and marketing professional Josie Schwarzer and award winning practitioner Jen McDermott.
Schwarzer has been appointed WE Buchan’s digital lead while McDermott is an account director and working across consumer clients.
“We’re thrilled to have Josie and Jen join WE Buchan at a time when we’re expanding our client base and the services we offer. Each of their unique skill sets will add value to our clients and help drive continued growth across the agency,” general manager Gemma Hudson said.
Schwarzer joins WE Buchan from Edge and has more than nine years’ international experience in content marketing and public relations across a wide range of industries. As a digital and social specialist with a solid grounding in PR and content, Schwarzer will be at the forefront of driving integrated campaign for clients across the agency.
“As the communication landscape rapidly evolves with the growth of digital platforms, it’s critical clients are aware of the opportunities they present to reaching their audiences,” Schwarzer said. “WE Buchan is plugged into the digital world and can draw on global best practise through its partnership with global communication agency WE.”
McDermott comes to WE Buchan with a wealth of experience working in the travel sector, consumer tech, e-commerce and entertainment.
WE Buchan is increasingly being recognised for its Consumer brand experience, with clients including eHarmony, JAX Tyres and China Southern Airlines and most recently, Cotton On Group. At WE Buchan, McDermott will lead the consumer practice and focus on growing the agency’s business in this sector.
