“I’m Not Dead!”: Kyle Sandilands Sparks Panic After Not Showing Up To Work

Earning what is believed to be around $35,000 per show, there’s no doubt that radio presenter Kyle Sandilands has a pretty good job.

The main downside, however, would have to be the before sunrise wakeups required to ensure he and co-host Jackie O are on the air for their breakfast slot.

Sandilands received some reprieve from the early starts this morning after he accidentally slept in and missed the beginning of his show.

The mishap sparked serious concern at the KIIS FM studio, with Jackie O Henderson telling listeners: “We don’t know where Kyle is. His phone is off which is very strange.”

Henderson guessed that his phone had gone dead overnight and his alarm hadn’t sounded as a result.

She added that Sandiland’s manager Bruno Bouchet was also unreachable.

With their talent seemingly missing in action, the KIIS FM team were forced to send a staff member to Kyle’s place of residence to check on his welfare.

The encounter was filmed on Instagram, with Sandilands telling his colleagues: “You all thought I was dead?” Kyle asked. “I’m not dead!”

He also managed to give a brief plug to his mattress for allowing him to sleep in.

“The Spinaleze mattress is so comfortable!”

He was then rushed over to the studio in North Ryde and went straight on air.

“I’m so sorry everyone. I slept in,” he said.
