Iconic Aussie actor and comedian Shane Jacobson leads IGA’s new local Christmas shopping campaign via the Core Agency.

The 30-second commercial shows the day in the life of an IGA shop owner and how they interact with the local community.

Jacobson guides us on an Aussie Christmas journey, with the whole family getting involved in the shopping. Dad’s are buying ham, sons are sneaking choccy in the shopping cart and some are even getting carrots for Rudolph.

Christian Finucane, founder and creative partner at The Core Agency said: “There’s a place that goes above and beyond to help you have a cracking Christmas – your local IGA. Our new campaign tells that heart-warming story, and it’s one that locals across Australia can relate to.”

Tracy Wilson, GM marketing Metcash added: “IGA retailers across the country are passionate about meeting the needs of the local communities that they serve.”

“They always go to great lengths to support the locals, from stocking specialty products, supporting local charities, providing the personalised service that the locals love, and making Christmas preparation easy by having everything they need and at great value.”

“IGA retailers will do whatever they can to make Christmas special, so from our network of local family owned businesses to yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas.”

The campaign launches on November 10 and will feature on TV.

Other Christmas campaigns have been launched by IGA’s competitors Coles and Woolies, as well as Amazon, Australia Post, Myer, Big W, and Kmart.
