HOYTS has officially signed on as a partner of the newly launched Film & Screen track at Cairns Crocodile, presented by Pinterest, marking a major milestone for the fast-growing Asia-Pacific festival.
Announced earlier this year, the Film & Screen track expands Cairns Crocodiles’ remit beyond creativity, marketing and media to bring film, television, streaming and screen culture into sharper focus.
The new track is designed to unite screen creatives, commissioners, producers, brands and media leaders for conversations exploring storytelling, audience behaviour and the growing convergence of screen and marketing.
HOYTS’ involvement signals strong industry support for the new track and reflects the enduring cultural power of cinema at a time of changing viewing habits.
“As Australia’s leading cinema brand, HOYTS is delighted to join Cairns Crocodiles as a partner in the Film and Screen track,” Damian Keogh, president and CEO of The HOYTS Group said.
“With 2026 shaping up as the biggest box office year in the post-Covid era, Cairns Crocodiles will be the perfect showcase for discussions around the great creative hitting the screens this year as well as hearing from key industry figures in the film and screen industry.”
From humble beginnings, HOYTS has grown into a major player in global entertainment and Australia’s leading cinema chain. The company now operates 60 cinemas across Australia and New Zealand, with more than 500 screens and over 57,000 seats across its network.
The Film & Screen track will sit alongside Cairns Crocodiles’ Building Brands and Rewilding Creativity tracks, as well as the newly launched Travel Marketing track.
“For so many of us, our relationship with storytelling began in a cinema,” said Nancy Hromin, co-founder of Irresistible Magazine and a director of The Misfits Media Company. “We’re excited to explore what the future holds for cinema-going and screen storytelling, and what’s next for audiences and their connection to the big screen.”
Film & Screen is also guided by a heavyweight advisory board spanning film, television, production, media and marketing, alongside the people behind the scenes who make it all happen. Learn more about the track and see the full advisory board here.
Cairns Crocodiles Presented by Pinterest returns to the Cairns Convention Centre from 12–14 May 2026. Get your tickets NOW.
