Gumtree Group has unveiled an enhanced media offering across its multi-faceted digital ecosystems for Australian consumers and partner businesses.
Gumtree Group has launched a raft of features within its CarsGuide platform, along with new research and insights into Australians’ car-buying journey.
New for 2026 are Showrooms, which incorporate storytelling, video assets, new car listings, classifieds integration, lead-generation tools, car comparison functionality and ad formats.
There’s also a new reporting dashboard, providing campaign analysis in real-time, new branded content with content solutions created by an in-house commercial team and an overhauled video strategy, to amplify CarsGuide’s editorial reviews with pre-roll advertising options across vertical videos, video-on-demand (VOD) channels and YouTube.
Gumtree also announced new automotive consumer research. Key findings of the study include broadened consideration windows where consumers can narrow their decisions; a hybrid research journey, increasingly digital, human-driven, and how AI fits into the customer journey; the influence of country of origin, where tradition and trust intersect with new entrants in the market; a transitional approach to alternate powertrains, where hybrids surge and EV adoption remains pragmatic.
“This illuminating piece of consumer research is a national study of 4,400 Australians and offers one of the most comprehensive windows into the mindset of contemporary vehicle buyers today,” explained Gumtree group national auto lead Christie Taylor.
Part of Gumtree Group’s ecosystem, the CarsGuide brand, buys and sells cars and announced 2025 as its strongest year for news consumption and exponential growth in video views on its site of over 70 per cent YoY, as well as 20 per cent YoY growth for YouTube.
CarsGuide has also announced new site features and content developments to provide an authoritative roadmap for consumers and brands.
Gumtree group director of advertising Jessica Hunter said the year ahead promised to be one of the Group’s biggest so far.
“2026 represents a year of firsts for Gumtree Group in a lot of ways. As a business we’re investing in new technologies and site features to support our commercial partners, while at the same time keeping an eye firmly fixed on supporting Australian consumers with how they research, buy and sell with a raft of new security features to make our platforms safer and easy to use,” Hunter said.
