Foxtel’s Group GM Of Lifestyle To Depart

The group general manager of Foxtel’s Lifestyle group, Hannah Barnes, will exit her role at the end of October.

Barnes has been part of Foxtel’s Lifestyle group for the past nine years, initially serving as head of programming before being promoted to GM.

In an email to staff, Foxtel’s head of television, Brian Walsh, said Barnes has made an indelible mark on the success of the lifestyle genre over the course of her stewardship.

“Her craftsmanship is admired throughout our industry, both here in Australia and internationally,” he said.

“An exceptional leader and advocate for equal opportunity, Hannah has led a high-achieving team who admire and respect her. Throughout her time at Foxtel, she has actively mentored many staff across the business.

“She has continuously made insightful acquisition decisions and brought the Lifestyle brands to life through broadcast, digital, marketing and live events.

“Hannah leaves us with the channels in great shape and on behalf of everyone at Foxtel I would like to offer my sincere thanks and gratitude for her hard work, dedication and leadership.”

Barnes said in an email to staff that her decision to leave Foxtel was not an easy one.

“It has been an amazing honour to be the brand guardian of Lifestyle – such an iconic Australian brand,” she said.

“I am ready to embark on my next adventure and to start the next chapter of what has been an incredible career both in the UK and now back in Australia.

“It’s time for me to ‘see what’s possible’.”
