FOXTEL is expanding its kids and family content offering with the addition of two powerhouse new channels – DreamWorks and PBS KIDS – bringing viewers hours of additional premium family entertainment.

From July 1, FOXTEL and NBCUniversal International Networks (NBCUIN), will officially launch DreamWorks – the 24-hour channel dedicated to kids and family entertainment – offering FOXTEL customers access to the hugely popular content from one of the world’s most recognisable animation studios.

The FOXTEL Group will become the exclusive home of the channel in Australia, transporting families on a journey through the fantastical and colourful worlds of DreamWorks characters, and bringing epic adventures, adrenaline pumping action and a touch of comedy.

DreamWorks will present a slate of Emmy award-winning, original television series such as Trolls: The Beat Goes On! and Dragons: Riders of Berk and the critically acclaimed Tales of Arcadia: Trollhunters. Other fan-favourites include The Boss Baby: Back in Business, Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny, Dawn of the Croods, The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Noddy Toyland Detective.

FOXTEL has also partnered with PBS Distribution to launch PBS KIDS – the number one educational media brand for kids – opening worlds of possibilities to young viewers with high-quality educational content parents can trust.

Children will be enthralled by award-winning programs such as Arthur – a four-time recipient of the Emmy for Outstanding Children’s Animated Program; and Peabody Award-winner, Molly of Denali.

Other programs include the Australian premieres of Donkey Hodie, a social-emotional puppet series that encourages preschoolers to aim high, embrace challenges and work hard to achieve their goals; and Elinor Wonders Why – a STEM-based cartoon series about a curious rabbit and her pals living in Animal Town.

Amanda Laing, chief commercial and content officer, FOXTEL Group, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with both NBCUniversal International Networks and PBS Distribution to bring these exciting new channels to our customers, with their compelling slate of award-winning and beloved series.”

“FOXTEL is committed to providing viewers the very best in family entertainment, and the addition of DreamWorks and PBS Kids boosts our already strong suite of kids channels. It is yet another example of our continued mission to become an aggregator of the world’s best content on our platform.”

We are thrilled to be expanding our partnership with Foxtel by bringing the beloved DreamWorks characters and franchises to Australian homes,” said Chris Taylor, managing director, NBCUniversal International Networks and Television Distribution ANZ.

“The positive uptake for our DreamWorks pop-up channel was so impressive and it’s exciting to now give the DreamWorks channel a home on Foxtel. We look forward to curating the very best in kids’ entertainment to this exclusive channel through our strong slate of engaging DreamWorks programming.”

DreamWorks and PBS KIDS will join FOXTEL’s existing lineup of kids channels that includes two dedicated kids’ movie channels: FOXTEL Movies Kids and FOXTEL Movies Family, with all movies shown ad-break free.
