“Electric!” Arnie’s BMW Super Bowl Ad Drops

“Electric!” Arnie’s BMW Super Bowl Ad Drops

Following on from last week’s witty teaser (view that HERE), Arnold Schwarzenegger’s work for BMW for next Monday’s Super Bowl has dropped overnight.

And the German car marque has certainly brought in extra A-list clout, with Salma Hayek Pinault partnering alongside Arnie to spruik the merits of its new iX electric vehicle.

The ad features the former California governor and Hollywood legend as Zeus, god of the sky and king of the ancient Greek gods. While Hayek plays Hera, goddess of women, marriage, family and childbirth.

The two decide to retire from their positions and move from Mount Olympus – home of the gods in Greek mythology – to Palm Springs in California.

Hera appears to be adjusting to retired life in the human world just fine, but Zeus has trouble dealing with mortals and his new mundane life.

The spot’s the work of San Francisco creative agency Goodby Silverstein & Partners and sees BMW’s return to the Super Bowl after a seven year absence.

It’s a fun spot (and the iX looks incredible), however, B&T can’t help but think it possibly missed the comedy mark. You decide by watching the work below:
