Digital agency CX Lavender has gone into voluntary administration.
The Ultimo-based agency’s clients include AMEX, Westpac, EB Games, mental health charity Headspace and the Blue Mountains Scenic Railway.
Vaughan Strawbridge and Matt O’Keefe of FTI Consulting were appointed as the administrators on Tuesday. The news was first reported by the Daily Telegraph.
In a statement to B&T, FTI Consulting said:
“The Administrators are working with the management team and staff to undertake an urgent assessment of the business and restructuring options available.
“While this is being undertaken, the business is continuing to trade, and work is continuing on all customer projects.”
The administrator also stated they will be seeking buyers for the business.
“A sale process seeking offers for the business as a going concern will soon commence to secure the ongoing employment of staff and enable the continuation of customers’ projects currently on foot.”
The agency was founded back in 1997 by Will Lavender who stepped away as CEO in 2016. In February last year, longstanding senior partner Clint Bayer was named CEO, replacing Adam Washington.
At the time, Will Lavender described Bauer as a “rare talent” and praised his “expertise in emerging technologies, his strategic foresight and his commitment to people-centred leadership”.
“CX Lavender has always excelled at delivering innovative solutions underpinned by a relentless focus on customers,” Bauer said at his appointment.
CX Lavender had been noted in the industry for its long-serving staff and its Genus Graduate Program, which first launched in 2015. Some of the team chatted with B&T late last year, telling us that the long tenures allowed them to produce better work faster for clients.
