DDB Sydney has delivered the first Australian above-the-line campaign for Credit24, as part of its new partnership with the national loan provider.

The multi-channel campaign, ‘Honest Loans. No Funny Business,’ pokes fun at the often-mistrusted fast loan industry.

The three-month campaign, which is now live nationwide, runs across online video, radio, out-of-home, social and TV.

The TV commercials open with a couple facing the financial hardship of a blown-up car motor and another a home DIY nightmare, only for a swashbuckling pirate and a “cute yet manipulative” red monster to appear, with promises of unserviceable loans and never-ending contracts. Though the couples prefer Credit24, which promises honest loans.

The campaign is the first work to be delivered as part of DDB Sydney’s new collaboration with Credit24, an Australian personal loan provider, offering small and medium-sized loans, with fast online approvals and flexible repayment terms.

Launched in Australia in 2012, Credit24 is part of UK-based International Personal Finance. The group has loans with more than 250,000 customers in six countries, with a commitment to responsible lending, providing a safe, transparent and trustworthy borrowing experience.

“Right from the pitch, the DDB team didn’t shy away from our lofty ambition to position Credit24 as the most trusted brand in a category that is actively distrusted. It was a tough challenge, but one they’ve risen to with a campaign that pokes some light-hearted fun at the consumer lending industry, while also leaning into Credit24’s core mission of being simple, honest and transparent’, focused on helping Australian customers in times of need and removing unnecessary barriers,” Tiffany Nguyen, head of sales & marketing at Credit 24 said.

“This slightly bonkers campaign shows that where other lenders rely on obfuscation and gimmicks to lure you in, Credit 24 is about simplicity and transparency. We had a lot of fun making this work with our brilliant new clients, it’s a platform we hope will grow over time and establish the brand as a more trustworthy alternative,” Matt Chandler, chief creative officer at DDB Sydney added.

The new campaign will run until the end of December.
