Independent creative communications group Connecting Plots has been appointed by Placemaking NSW following a competitive pitch.
The appointment sees Connecting Plots Group leading integrated creative and communications strategy and planning across the Government Body’s portfolio, which includes some of the state’s most iconic and much-loved destinations, including The Rocks, Darling Harbour and Barangaroo precincts.
The contract is worth $3.6 million and was held previously by WPP’s Akqa.
“These precincts are quintessentially Australian, the kind of landmarks that embody our national identity and spirit,” said Tom Phillips, CEO and co-founder at Connecting Plots.
“To now have the opportunity to help shape how Australians and visitors experience them is something really special. It’s about finding new ways to tell their stories so they continue to feel relevant and alive, while staying true to what makes them loved in the first place.”
The win continues a strong period of momentum for Connecting Plots Group, following its evolution into a full-service communications group with specialist capabilities across social and influencer, earned and PR, digital and media, and CX and communications strategy.
“Placemaking NSW is an inspiring organisation with a clear purpose of creating places that people love to be part of,” concluded Phillips. “We’re thrilled to be working with them to help bring that purpose to life in new and exciting ways.”
