For more than a decade, B&T’s 30 Under 30 Awards has propelled the careers of some of the advertising, marketing and media industry’s most promising talent. Some of the industry’s leading founders, directors and luminaries had their first moments in the spotlight at B&T’s 30 Under 30 Awards.
Each week, B&T will take a look back at the journeys of some of our 30 Under 30 winners to find out how they’re still changing the world and why there’s still so much more to come.
On-time entries for this year’s B&T 30 Under 30 Awards are closing this Friday! Don’t miss out — step up and stand out. Late entries close on 6 February 2026.
Priscilla Truong won the Awards in 2017 while she was a senior account manager at Ogilvy PR. Since then, she’s packed up her bags and moved across the pond to London to work at Freuds agency, Portland, and most recently, THREESIXTY.
“Winning B&T’s 30 Under 30 was a huge confidence boost early in my career. I wasn’t good at championing myself early in my career – I always believed in putting my head down and just doing good work, and didn’t fully appreciate the importance of building your own profile – whether that be with colleagues, clients or in the industry,” she told B&T.
“The award win challenged that mindset and provided recognition that’s helped to boost my confidence and profile. Looking back, it was one of those milestones that subtly shapes your trajectory — not because it defines you, but because it reminds you that you belong in the room,” she said.
Truong has helped develop integrated campaigns and thought leadership platforms at global events, including COP, Davos, and the UN General Assembly. Throughout her career, she’s worked closely with climate and nature NGOs to develop integrated campaigns and compelling narratives to help them meaningfully engage stakeholders on key environmental and social issues.
“For me, creativity is what turns corporate messaging into something people actually care about. It’s the difference between a statement that ticks a box and a story that makes people stop and think.
“When it’s done well, it helps brands move beyond what they do and into what they stand for. That’s when communications becomes powerful — not just getting attention, but shaping how people think and feel about an organisation in a lasting way.
Her advice for young people entering Adland? “Be curious, not precious. The industry changes constantly, and the people who grow fastest are the ones who ask questions, try new things, and stay adaptable. You don’t need to have a five-year plan — you just need to show up with curiosity, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. Also, be kind. Reputation in this industry travels fast, and the people you meet early in your career will often reappear later in unexpected ways. It’s about building relationships, not just experience”.
