While Jackie O Henderson is away from the radio and focusing on her health, Kyle Sandilands has been paired up with Bachelor star and podcast force Brittany Hockley and some fans are furious.
Hockley, best known for her stint on The Bachelor and now for becoming not just an influencer but one of the most popular podcast hosts in Australia, has taken over from Henderson and the reviews are mixed.
While Hockley’s role makes sense when you consider that her popular podcast Life Uncut with Laura Bryne has been secured by KIIS and also become a successful radio show, basically, she’s top-tier KIIS talent at this point in her career and so a natural temporary successor.
However, Hockley has admitted on-air that her fans have had mixed responses to her joining the shock jock on the radio. If you want to get a sense of that mixed reaction, her Podcast’s Facebook group has been very divided.
One fan commented in a thread about Hockley joining Sandilands, “I’m surprised she took the role and was really disappointed when she went along with putting done women and body hair, the complete antithesis of what the pod is generally about.”
Another commented, “This thread is off and it feels like Britt is being shamed for making the choice to take up this amazing opportunity for her career. Let’s support her regardless. At the end of the day it’s work, she isn’t dating him!”
While another commented, “I hope she can find a way to turn working with him into a positive otherwise, it could end up being a huge disaster for her career.”
However, The Brag reported that Hockley joked: “That’s how you know you’ve made it!”
Still, while Hockley is definitely holding her own, Sandilands without Henderson is like vegemite without butter.
