Ben Fordham Steps Away From Television To Focus On Radio

Ben Fordham has announced he won’t be returning to host Nine’s Ninja Warrior and instead he will be focusing exclusively on his 2GB breakfast radio show.

Fordham, who has hosted Ninja Warrior for five seasons, told The Daily Telegraph, “I am not going to be hosting Australian Ninja Warrior going forward because I found that it placed so much pressure on my family and on the breakfast show.

“I’ve decided that it would be better for me just to focus on the main game, which is breakfast radio. For the sake of my mental fitness and also my family, I think it is better to call it a day on Ninja Warrior and focus on radio.”

Fordham’s choice to focus on breakfast radio might be because he has recently been winning the ratings, after a slow and steady start.

Fordham, who took over the breakfast show from Alan Jones, took a while to find his feet and audience on radio. Famously, earlier this year, Kyle And Jackie O beat Fordham’s show in the Sydney breakfast slot.

However, Fordham has inarguably found his audience and groove now and has become a ratings winner. Fordham nabbed the highly competitive number one breakfast spot in Sydney, in the most recent radio ratings, for the second time in a row.

Assumedly, Fordham will continue his relationship with Nine in some capacity as he has worked with the network for over twenty years.

Nine has yet to announce Fordham’s replacement on Ninja Warrior
