M&C Saatchi’s Bang PR has been appointed to the largest light, music and ideas event in the world, Vivid Sydney, for the second year running, following a competitive agency pitch.

Vivid Sydney (22 May – 8 June 2015) is entering its seventh year of transforming the Harbour City with its colourful creative canvas. Last year’s festival attracted more visitors than the entire population of Adelaide, with a record 1.43 million attendees and was the highlight of the winter event calendar in NSW.

Owned and managed by Destination NSW, the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Vivid Sydney features large scale light installations and projections (Vivid Light); music performances and collaborations (Vivid Music including Vivid LIVE at the Sydney Opera House); and creative ideas, discussions and debates (Vivid Ideas), all celebrating the city of Sydney as the creative hub of the Asia-Pacific.

Bang PR has extensive experience across major events, sport and entertainment, including Vivid Sydney 2014. Bang PR will manage all consumer PR initiatives related to Vivid Sydney 2015.  This includes pre-promotion, media launches and previews, and media management during the festival.

Destination NSW’s GM of Communications, Tanya Bowes said, “Bang PR showed a great understanding of the development of the event and agency requirements, presenting creative ideas grounded in solid media strategy.

“The team has a very strong track record in promoting and leveraging large events, and with a fantastic event like Vivid Sydney, which amazes audiences each year, I am looking forward to working with the agency once again to leverage its incredibly rich consumer and media content.”

Recently appointed managing director of Bang PR, Annalise Brown said of the appointment, “Vivid Sydney 2015 was a brilliant pitch to work on, the entire team and broader agency enjoyed developing intelligent and creative PR plans to amplify Vivid Sydney 2015. We’re honoured to have been re-appointed by Destination NSW and are looking forward to working on the biggest Vivid Sydney festival to date.”
