Ashleigh Carter is head of client service at Atomic 212° in Sydney. Here she goes up against B&T’s 20 most probing industry questions…

1. What’s your current role?

Head of Client Service across our Sydney office.

2. Describe what you do in one sentence?

Work with our Sydney team to help move our clients’ businesses forward.

3. The best thing about 2023 so far?

The opportunity for change.

4. One thing you’d do to change your industry for the better?

Gender equality beyond on paper measures and after the recent MFA 5+ session on sustainability, work on better supporting small disrupter businesses that are doing good for the environment.

5. What makes you mad?

Lack of honesty or transparency.

6. What makes you happy?

The fam.

7. How would colleagues describe you?

Determined, kind, considered.

8. How would you describe your colleagues?

Smart, team players, high achievers.

9. Favourite industry hero?

Lorraine Woods, Atomic 212’s head of trading: her advice, mentorship and skill for her craft is second to none.

10. Your one career regret?

Having not worked overseas in other markets.

11. Your biggest career tip?

Put your hand up for the opportunities that scare you most.

12. Best stress reliever?

Generally, exercise. If in the office, a quick walk around the pier that Atomic 212°’s Sydney office is located by the water with fresh air.

13. Dream holiday destination?

Based on my current family dynamic, I’m looking forward to getting back to Hawaii at some stage.

14. The one book you’d recommend?

Part way through The Girl in the Green Dress. Wow.

15. If you weren’t doing this what would you be doing?

I dip in and out of potential careers for my second self. It includes something in medicine, finance or something creative like ceramics.

16. Where will you be in 10 years’ time?

Hopefully I have taken my trip to Hawaii.

17. The one technology you just don’t understand?

Twitter.

18. Your most embarrassing media addiction?

Not embarrassed by it, but all the podcasts I can get in my ears.

19. Go-to karaoke song?

Thanks to my four year old, S Club 7’s Bring It All Back. Check in with me in a few weeks for the new favourite.

20. Do you replace the milk in the staff fridge?

No, but being a non-coffee or tea drinker means I also don’t feel guilty for not doing this.
