Apple Finally Announces New iPhone Launch Date And Hints At 5G Capabilities

With the usual September iPhone launch date having come and gone, Apple fans have been eagerly awaiting an announcement about the new devices.

On Tuesday, the company revealed the date of the event will be on October 13.

The invitation to the event was accompanied by the message “Hi, Speed”.

With 5G poised to transform mobile capabilities with its super-high speeds, it’s a pretty safe bet to assume the next iPhones will include 5G capabilities.

According to Bloomberg, Apple will reveal up to four new iPhones with 5G capability, faster processors and a wider range of screens.

Despite the mystery surrounding the new iPhones, Apple has been active in recent months.

The company has launched its iOS 14 update, which has taken user privacy to the next level for iPhone users.

iPhone users are now notified if an app is using their microphone or camera, while advertisers will soon have to track users without the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), which will be deprecated in the coming months.

Apple has also continued its push into services in recent months, announcing new bundles which will give users access to Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 50GB of iCloud storage for a set monthly fee.

Additionally, the Apple Watch has been updated with a host of new features.

Despite the new ventures, there is no doubting the launch of the new iPhone will be Apple’s flagship event of 2020.

iPhone sales still generate half of Apple’s total revenue.
