ABC is set to pull a large portion of its programming as it prepares for a 24-hour strike.
Approximately 2000 staff are expected to walk off the job, causing immense disruptions to the networks usual programming schedule.
Viewers should expect the key time slots to instead showcase either pre-recorded content or repeat episodes. Independently produced shows are set to continue as planned.
Most notably, their current affairs program 7:30 will be impacted as the network scrambles to fill schedules with external content and reruns of older programs.
ABC TV will run Hard Quiz Battle of the Networks featuring Larry Emdur, Leigh Sales, Angela Bishop and Karl Stefanovic during the prime time evening time slot. ABC News will run BBC World News from 4pm to 2am.
Radio is expected to see the largest impact with stations turning to international programs (from the BBC) and reruns as a means to combat the strike and ease as much disruption as possible.
The strike comes in response to ongoing disputes over pay. ABC staff rejected an offer for a 10 per cent pay rise over a three year period.
