Youngbloods Vic is set to host a panel discussion called ‘Career limiting moves’ – an event to show young people in the industry that when they stuff up it’s usually not as bad as they think.
As a young person in advertising, confidence in oneself can be a fragile thing. At such an emotionally invested time in your career it’s sometimes easy to lose perspective and see a small slip-up (like messing up a WIP document, forgetting to include GST on a budget, or calling your boss ‘Mum’) as much larger than it really is.
Youngbloods believes that sometimes we need a little reminder; everyone stuffs up – even our idols, and they stuff up much bigger and better than you do. And no matter how bad it feels at the time, it never spells the end of the world.
To prove it, Youngbloods is hosting ‘Career Limiting Moves’ on Thursday the 15th of November at 6pm (ticket details below); a panel night devoted to hearing and talking about stuff-ups from our industry’s leaders. Panellist will share stories about their major professional mishaps and how they overcame them. And like any good panel event, we will be throwing to the audience to ask questions or even to share some stories of their own.
The panelists for the night will include:
- Emma Robbins – ECD, M&C Saatchi
- Phil Van Bruchem – associate ECD, BWM Dentsu
- Romanca Jasinski- head of production, The Monkeys
- Ben Kidney – director of digital, Clemenger BBDO
- Rhys Ryan – managing director, Porter Novelli
- Georgina Pownall – managing director, McCann
The event will be held next Thursday the 15ht of November at The Smith, 213-219 High St, Prahran VIC 3181 and tickets are available here.
