Samsung is ‘reimagining clothing care’ with a new wardrobe that effectively dry cleans your clothes.
The AirDresser uses air and and high temperature steam to remove dust and germs from clothes, reducing the need to wash.
“Samsung is once again elevating modern life by transforming how we care for our clothes at home, giving consumers more freedom to spend their time doing things they want to do,” said Samsung Electronics vice president of the digital appliances business Jennifer Song.
“AirDresser is Samsung’s response to consumer demand for more dynamic performance from even basic appliances, providing an easy and effective home solution to meet their needs for clean clothes that smell fresh, are germ free and look neat.”
Once a garment is hung in the futuristic contraption, the user can either initiate a new cycle or wait for the system to run its course.
There is also a ‘Deodorizing Filter’ function to freshen clothes, break down odor-causing particles caused by sweat, tobacco, and food and prevent unpleasant smells from building up inside the unit
Samsung says the device only gives out “minimal noise and vibration”.
The device will be made available in some markets around the world, including the UK and Russia. It is unclear whether it will be available in Australia.
In the UK the device is available for £1,999 ($3,833).
