Australia’s favourite Irishman (no offence to Bono, Conor McGregor, or Niall from One Direction) was back on TV last night, with the cast of the new James Bond movie and musical guest Ed Sheeran.

Norton hosted Daniel Craig, Lea Seydoux, Lashana Lynch and Rami Malek on the stunning red sofa’s replacement: four socially distanced red chair (one only has to wonder at the upholstery costs) to 293,000 viewers for Network 10, according to OzTAM’s metro data.

It was a rather quiet Wednesday, with no show reaching over a million metro viewers. The best performer was Seven News with 984,000. Seven also had Home and Away with 590,000 viewers, The Chase with 481,000 and Highway Patrol – Dumb Decisions with 373,000.

Nine News was second overall with 948,000 viewers, while The Block had 894,000 and A Current Affair had 724,000. Also on Nine was Paramedics with 529,000 viewers, Hot Seat with 411,000 and Tipping Point with 312,000.

ABC News had 663,000 viewers, while Hard Quiz again performed well with 623,000. 7.30 scored 535,000 viewers and Question Everything had 440,000.

Along with Graham, 10 had The Project with 439,000 viewers and 10 News First with 295,000.

The Nine Network continued its winning streak with 31.8 per cent of the daily share, followed by the Seven Network with 25.1 per cent. The ABC TV Network came in third with 17.6 per cent, while Network 10 was fourth with 16.4 per cent and the SBS Network had 9.1 per cent.

Looking now to OzTAM’s Total TV report for Wednesday September 29th, the top three remained consistent: Seven News first with 1,747,00 total viewers (metro: 1,106,000, regional: 598,000, BVOD: 40,000); The Block second with 1,514,000 total viewers (metro: 900,000, regional: 316,000, BVOD: 206,000) and Nine News third with 1,491,000 total viewers (metro: 1,066,000, regional: 384,0000, BVOD: 39,000).

However, the show with the highest lift on overnight was the ABC’s Frayed, beating SAS Australia’s streak. Frayed had a lift of 52 per cent, making its total viewership 543,000 (metro: 252,000, regional: 106,000, BVOD: 85,000).
