It’s champagne and caviar along with nuts, bolts and screws on The Block set, as the program goes from strength to strength.
Since The Voice finished, no entertainment show has managed to truly muster a challenge to The Block in terms of the ratings, with last night’s ep scoring 902,000 metro viewers. The episode featured more laundry drama, and one team questioning whether they would have the budget to finish their house.
Next in the entertainment ratings was SAS Australia with 643,00 viewers, followed by Home and Away with 594,000.
On top overall was once again Seven News with 1,106,000 viewers, followed by Nine News with 1,066,000, A Current Affair with 779,000 and ABC News with 704,000.
Also on Seven was The Chase with 587,000 viewers, while the ABC had 7.30 with 591,000 viewers, Hard Quiz with 577,000 and Question Everything at 424,000.
For Nine, Paramedics had 693,000 viewers, Hot Seat had 500,000, Kings Cross ER had 363,000 and Nine’s Afternoon News had 333,000.
Finally, for 10, The Project had 501,000 and 10 News First had 363,000 viewers.
The Nine Network won the night with 31.9 per cent of the daily share, followed by the Seven Network with 27.9 per cent. And, in third place, was the ABC TV Network with 16.7 per cent.
In fourth was Network 10 with 15.8 per cent, followed by the SBS Network with 7.8 per cent.
Looking now to OzTAM’s Total TV report for Wednesday September 22nd, Seven News was again the top program with a total audience of 1,837,000 viewers (metro: 1,165,000, regional: 626,000, BVOD: 43,000).
In second was The Block with a total audience of 1,486,000 viewers (metro: 855,000, regional: 319,000, BVOD: 198,000).
The Block just pipped third place entry Nine News, which had 1,483,000 total viewers (metro: 1,072,000, regional: 368,000, BVOD: 42,000).
There were a number of shows who experienced high lift on overnight, such as SAS Australia at 31 per cent, RFDS at 45 per cent and Rosehaven at 48 per cent.
But the show with the highest was Seven’s The Rookie at a whopping 69 per cent lift, scoring a total audience of 506,000 (metro: 171,000, regional: 129,000, BVOD: 41,000).
