Wednesday TV Wrap: Shaun Micallef Tickles ABC’s Ratings Bone

The final in the series of Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell proved a winner for the ABC last night, pulling 602,000 viewers according to OzTAM metro numbers and rating as the public broadcaster’s best performer.

On the downside, the ABC’s Utopia (572,000) has dropped about 150,000 viewers since it debuted three weeks ago. While Hard Quiz (570,000) rounded out Aunty’s evening of comedy.

Once again, The Block (834,000) was the most watched entertainment show of the night, while The Bachelor did 760,000 for 10.

Nine snuck home for a Wednesday night win with 27.8 per cent of the audience share (all channels). Seven was oh-so-close behind with 27.5 per cent. 10 did 21.6 per cent, the ABC had 16.5 per cent and SBS had 6.6 per cent.

Seven’s 6pm news (814,000) beat Nine’s (814,000). ACA had 752,000.

The ABC’s 7pm news bulletin had 598,000 and 7.30 did 487,000.

In the battle for breakfast, Sunrise (280,000) gave it to Today (227,000).

Other highlights for Seven included Home And Away (631,000), The Chase (524,000), and The Celebrity Chase (470,000).

10 also did well with The Project (512,000), My Life Is Murder (413,000) and 10 News First (357,000).

Best for SBS was Tony Robinson’s Coast To Coast which posted 170,000.
