Ten’s The Bachelorette had its best night since debut last night, pulling 622,000 viewers and giving network bosses hope the series will be a “grower” following rather tepid results thus far.

However, it was the returning Beach Cops (629,000) that afforded Seven a Wednesday night win.

Seven took home 30.2 per cent of the audience share, Nine had to settle for 26.1 per cent, Ten stole third sport with a neat 19 per cent, the ABC had 17 per cent and SBS took off with 7.7 per cent.

Yet again, Seven’s 6pm news was the most watched show of the night, pulling 1.003 million. The network’s other highlights were Today Tonight (933,000), Home And Away (616,000), Highway Patrol (594,000), 9-1-1 ((559,000) and The Chase (542,000).

Over at Nine, its best was its 6pm news bulletin (879,000), followed by ACA (759,000), Young Sheldon (582,000), a repeat of Young Sheldon (582,000), Manifest (464,000) and Hot Seat (454,000).

The Bachelorette aside, Ten’s other highlights included Playing For Keeps (463,000), a disappointing The Project (440,000) and its 5pm news (357,000).

Best for the ABC was its 7pm news bulletin (644,000), followed by 7.30 (629,000), Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell (616,000), Invictus Games Today (457,000) and the finale of Back In Very Small Business (279,000).

SBS’s best was once again a repeat and trains, Great British Railway Journeys steaming to 240,000.
