Uber Advertising has appointed Tyler Greer as manager, ANZ creative strategy to mark the launch of the company’s global creative studio in Australia and New Zealand.
In the newly created role, Greer will be responsible for building out Uber’s branded content and experiential offering across the region, working with agencies and advertisers to develop campaigns that extended beyond standard in-app placements.
He will report to Uber Advertising’s global creative studio leadership in the US and will work closely with local sales teams to shape how the studio is positioned in the market.
Greer joined Uber from Wesfarmers OneDigital, where he was head of sales strategy and enablement. He has also previously held positions at News Corp and Mediacom giving him a mix of agency and media owner expertise.
The Creative Studio is positioned as a premium, invite-only capability aimed to Uber’s largest advertising partners. It offers bespoke brand activations and experiential work layered on top of the com[any’s ride-share and delivery platforms
It originally launched in the US before Uber confirmed its plans to bring the capability to Brazil and Australia.
Announcing the move on Linkedin, Greer said he was “absolutely stoked to be starting the role”.
The appointment comes as Uber Advertising experiences a period of steady growth. The division launched in Australia in 2022 as the company’s first advertising sales operation outside of the US. It is led by head of Uber Advertising APAC Michael Levine.
Greer will be tasked with translating advertiser interest into a slate of custom brand experiences to position Uber as more than a media buy.
