Nine’s The Block has once again proved it remains one of the biggest drawcards on Australian television, with the renovation juggernaut taking centre stage as contestants finally unveiled their living, dining and alfresco spaces.
The latest reveal brought plenty of drama alongside the design critiques, with the judges delivering some particularly pointed feedback as the teams attempted to turn their spaces into polished selling points.
Adam and Jolene emerged victorious, finally securing their first win of the competition. Their spaces edged out Lisa and Rosco, while other contestants were left questioning whether their design choices had missed the mark.
Sunday’s episode delivered a fresh dose of tension aside from room reveals, with the Blockheads continuing to grapple with the enormous financial pressure attached to their builds. The episode had a Total TV National Reach of 2,472,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 1,399,000.
Over on Seven, The Voice Australia entered its knockout rounds, with coaches making the difficult calls on which artists would progress.
Tommy Novak secured his place in the quarter-finals with a rendition of All By Myself, while Jeramie and Benny were sent home after failing to receive a coach save. The competiton show came in second with a national reach of 2,253,000 and an average audience of 1,089,000.
Nine’s Sunday Afternoon NRL brought in big number with a national reach of 1,193,000 and an average audience of 549,000. The Penrith Panthers demolished the Wests Tigers 38-10 at CommBank Stadium. The result secured Penrith its fourth minor premiership win since 2020, setting up a qualifying final against the Sydney Roosters.
ABC’s Portrait Artist of the Year Australia, featured nine artists who were challenged to capture Casey Donovan, Lisa McCune and Dave Hughes in just four hours. It had a national reach of 933,000 and an average audience of 515,000.
Meanwhile, Ten’s Gogglebox Australia returned with its familiar couch critics dissecting the week’s biggest television moments. It came in twelvth with a national reach of 765,000 and an average audience of 465,000.
SBS’s Surviving 9/11 also found its way back into the top 30 with a national reach of 428,000 and an average audience of 106,000.
Seven’s AFL finals coverage featured two very different results, with the Sydney Swans producing a major upset over reigning premiers Brisbane Lions, winning 141 to 88 and reaching a home preliminary final; the match reached 2,355,000 with an average audience of 960,000.
Later, Adelaide held off the Western Bulldogs 90 to 68 in the elimination final. The match reached 2,063,000 and had an average audience of 786,000.
It was a clash of the code on Friday with Seven’s AFL elimination final between Geelong and Carlton reaching 2,812,000 with an average audience of 1,080,000. The Cats ended Carlton’s finals campaign with a 107 to 74 win at the MCG.
On Nine, NRL Live reached 1,740,000 with an average audience of 757,000. The South Sydney Rabbitohs beat the Sydney Roosters 50-20 and simultaneously celebrated Jai Arrow’s 100th game for the club.
