Social media company Reddit announced plans to go public back in early December 2021 and have now made some exciting top-end changes in preparation for their next chapter.

Reddit has warmly welcomed Patricia (Pat) Fili-Krushel (Pictured above), a strong business strategist and experienced media executive to the Board of Directors.

The company has also extended a profound thank you to Sam Altman who departed Reddit’s Board of Directors.

In a statement, a Reddit spokesperson said, Fili-Krushel has a long and consistent record of developing innovative solutions for leading technology, media, and consumer companies.

Previously she served as chair of the NBCUniversal News Group, EVP, administration at Time Warner Inc., CEO of WebMD and president of both the ABC Television Network and ABC Daytime.

More recently, she was the founding co-chair and served as CEO of Coqual, a global think tank and advisory service.

On her move, Fili-Krushel, said, “Reddit has an unmatched ability to bring people together through the community.”

“This core mission has remained at the heart of Reddit during a period of significant growth, which is something that I’m drawn to and excited to be part of.”

Currently, Fili-Krushel serves on the boards of two public companies — Dollar General Corporation and Chipotle Mexican Grill.

This is in addition to her service on several non-profit boards including chair of Coqual and the Berkshire Film Festival, vice-chair of The Public Theater, The Estee Lauder Foundation and PEN America.

She has also received numerous recognitions including Fortune’s “50 Most Powerful Women,” New York’s Women in Communications Matrix Award, and a published Harvard Business School case study on her career

Reddit CEO, Steve Huffman, said, “Her experience and expertise are unparalleled, and she will be a welcome and important voice on our board.”

As Fili-Krushel joins Reddit, Sam Altman has departed Reddit’s Board of Directors after seven years of service.

On his departure, Altman said, “I love Reddit as a user and have loved my time on the Board.”

“The company is in very capable hands,” he continued.
