After 38 years on air, Home and Away still consistently draws in big crowds. In the 50th episode of the season, a total TV national reach of 1,486,000 and an average audience of 1,021,000 tuned in as senior sergeant David Langham made a shock arrest.
After pulling another senior constable off the case—for conflict of interest—David leans fully into procedure. Instead of entertaining the idea that Tane Parata might’ve been set up, he focuses on what’s in front of him. And that’s the fact that all the evidence still points straight at Tane. Forcing him to arrest Tane for possession of illegal drugs.
The episode also racked in a BVOD national average audience of 256,000.
Not surprisingly, Nine’s ratings behemoth Married At First Sight topped the charts once again with its second episode of the homestays week. A national reach of 2,756,000, an average audience of 1,672,000 and a BVOD average audience of 564,000 people sat through what could only be described as one of the most awkward homestays ever.
After a tense week in the experiment, Chris and Sam found themselves at Chris’s farm in the Southern Highlands of NSW. What was meant to be a peaceful, romantic weekend escape, turned into on of the more awkward homestays in MAFS history.
The weekend began with a deeply uncomfortable, silent road trip, before arriving on the farm where Chris tried to curb the awkwardness by introducing his husband to his cows.
The day concluded with Sam sleeping in a bunk bed located in the spare room—hey, at least he got a break from awkward silence.
Things went from bad to worse when the couple woke up, as Sam was infuriated that Chris had gone to the gym in the morning, leaving him by alone at the farm.
This prompted Sam to sit down with Chris and put each other out of their misery by ending the relationship.
Network 10’s Survivor took the broadcasters top spot of most watched entertainment program. More than 700 thousand Aussies watched last night’s episode.
