Last night, fan favourites and Italian power duo Simone and Viviana took home the $100,000 in prize money after scoring a 2-point victory in the My Kitchen Rules finale over runners-up Caz and Fergus.

The episode raked in a Total TV National reach of 1,847,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 1,129,000 for Seven.

The overwhelmed pair revealed that their experience on the show had “completely changed” their lives after the results were revealed.

“I’m so happy to have shared this with Viviana and all our friends. Amore, amore. We did this one for you,” Simone said.

Simone shared in the previous episode that he was going to be a dad, and he touched on the good news again after winning last night. “I just found out I’m going to become a dad. My beautiful partner Victoria is pregnant. It’s mind-blowing,” he said.

“I walked into this challenge with a best friend and came out of it with a brother. I could not be happier,” Viviana said.

Caz told the judges she knew the competition would be challenging. “I’m incredibly proud of both of us. It was never going to be easy today,” Caz said.

Over on Nine, A Current Affair raked in a Total TV National Reach of 1,458,000. The episode detailed how a prison escapee, Darko Desic looked over his shoulder for 30 years.

After surviving in plain sight while living rough around Sydney’s northern beaches, Desic eventually handed himself into the police in 2021, as the COVID-19 pandemic gripped Australia.

The former fugitive opened up about his life for the first time on A Current Affair.

Over on 10, The Cheap Seats raked in a Total TV National Reach of 848,000.
