After six drama filled weeks, Nine’s Married At First Sight has come to an explosive end. The grand finale, which saw all the contestants (bar a couple) reunite for a final couch session with the experts, reached a national audience of 3,041,000 and a total TV national average audience of 1,954,000.
It has been these numbers that have consisted kept Nine’s viewership juggernaut at the top of OzTam’s daily TV ratings.
In last night’s episode, Gia and Bec were grilled for their nasty ‘school girl behaviour’ through out the series, Steve officially called it quits with wife Rachel, before Danny left the room speechless with his un released final interview footage.
Now, we could sit here afternoon and go into every minute detail of the episode. However, in the episode that also pulled in a BVOD national average audience of 674,000, we are going to sum up the biggest storyline of the night.
Capturing headlines this morning and last night, was Danny leaving the whole cast—especially ex-wife Bec—shook.
Bec fronted the couch solo, awaiting commentary from the experts on her attempted relationship in the experiment. Rather, the experts decided to show her and the group clips of the relationship giving a big insight into whether Danny was into her or not.
In an unseen clip, a producer asks if he can see himself falling in love with her.
“I don’t want to tie myself into a loophole without my lawyer present,” he replies.
In another moment he also said he “would never fall in love with her on a month of Sundays, f— that”.
This left Bec, the entire group and three million Aussies gobsmacked.
Seven also broadcasted a grand finale overnight. The first part of Australian Idol’s big dance raked in an audience of 1.7 million people and an average audience of just under one million. This places the Kyle Sandilands’ hosted talent show in fifth place overall.
Over on 10, its hit TV show Australian Survivor: Redemption, had its biggest episode of the season since its launch. The episode pulled in a total TV national reach of 687,000 and an average audience of 454,000. The season to date has reached 6.84 million viewers.
