Dr Chris Brown, Amy Gerard and Jack Charles will officially join forces for the brand-new KIIS Breakfast show in Sydney, launching on KIIS 1065 from Monday November 9.
The new breakfast show will deliver a bold new format full of fun just for Sydney. The move marks a new chapter for the network which has been embattled with lawsuits from ex-employees Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson after a tense on-air blowout that ended their long-serving breakfast show.
“This is a big moment for ARN and the future of KIIS Sydney. We’ve brought together big names and fresh new talent to create the best content for radio, video, social and in real life experiences,” said ARN chief executive Michael Stephenson.
Today’s announcement marks the first reveal of ARN’s new KIIS Breakfast line-up, with the Melbourne team to be announced soon.
“This is an exciting new chapter for KIIS Sydney. Chris, Amy and Jack each bring a completely different perspective, and together they’ve created something that feels natural, relatable and full of personality. We can’t wait for Sydney listeners to wake up with them every morning,” said ARN chief content officer Kerri Elstud.
Dr Chris Brown is an Australian media personality, with a career spanning over two decades across television, radio and live events. Known for his quick wit and warmth, he has become a familiar face through programs including The Living Room, Dancing with the Stars, Bondi Vet, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and the soon to be aired Once in a Lifetime.
“Waking up with the city I love and bringing a huge dose of real life, warmth and (hopefully) humour is truly a dream come true. This show will be all about sharing our mornings, some laughs and maybe a few secrets together. I can’t wait. Plus, these hours are also a great way to beat the Bondi Road traffic so it’s a win-win,” said Dr Chris Brown.
Amy Gerard has joined KIIS Breakfast Sydney after winning audiences over as a regular fill-in host on KIIS Breakfast and host of KIIS Weekends. She has built a following across radio, podcasting and social media with her cheeky takes on everyday life.
“I’m genuinely pinching myself that I get to be part of this show. The chemistry between Chris, Jack and I already feels so natural, it’s fun, unpredictable and there’s a very good chance we’ll be completely unhinged before most people have had their first coffee. I cannot wait to wake up with Sydney every morning,” said Gerard.
Jack Charles is an Australian radio personality, known for his sharp sense of humour and fresh perspective, with a knack for creating moments that connect with audiences across radio, digital and social platforms.
“I’m PUMPED to be joining KIIS Breakfast and waking up Sydney every morning. Amy is an absolute gun, and her stories often leave me with my jaw on the floor. Chris and I have a history of bringing out the worst – or possibly best – in each other. I have a feeling Sydney’s in for a pretty fun ride!” said Charles.
The trio will be joined by experienced broadcaster and producer Natalie Penfold as the show’s newsreader.
