Nine’s hit quiz show Tipping Point Australia has reclaimed the top spot among Wednesday night’s entertainment programs with a Total TV National Reach of 1,611,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 888,000.
It outpaced Seven’s The Chase Australia which came in fifth with a national reach of 1,575,000 and an average audience of 808,000.
Back on Nine, the 2026 Australian Swimming Trials Finals had the largest national reach of 1,576,000 during prime time, but not the biggest average audience 342,000. Sam Short stole the night from 50m world record holder Cam McEvoy, breaking the Australian and Commonwealth record in the 800m freestyle final. The 22-year-old led the field by half a pool length at the halfway mark and finished more than 10 seconds clear of second-placed Benji Goedemans. Short’s time was the third-fastest in history over the distance.
Ten’s MasterChef Australia won prime time with an average audience of 718,000 and national reach of 1,150,000. The episode surprised viewers with an unexpected farewell. Fan favourite Dot McHugh was eliminated after her river mint doughnuts with jam failed to impress the judges in a native Australian ingredients elimination challenge, with guest judge Robert Irwin presiding over her exit.
Seven’s SAS: Australia vs England drew in a national reach of 1,044,000 and an average audience of 447,000 while ABC’s Hard Quiz landed in seventeenth with a national reach of 750,000 and an average audience of 433,000.
