Seven’s First Dates Australia delivered a particularly emotional moment as one contestant was left in tears after her date picked up the dinner bill.

The dating series featured 56-year-old Amanda, who became emotional when her date, fellow 56-year-old David, unexpectedly offered to pay for their meal.

The sweet (and slightly awkward) moment came as the pair continued getting to know each other, with Amanda visibly moved by the gesture.

First Dates Australia reached 1,163,000 nationally and averaged 505,000 viewers, with a BVOD average audience of 83,000.

“It touched me, because it’s a big thing for me,” Amanda said. “It was lovely.”

However, The Block was Tuesday’s biggest non-news program, recording a Total TV National Reach of 1,873,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 1,066,000, including a strong 260,000 BVOD average audience.

The renovation series was followed by A Current Affair, which pulled a reach of 1,702,000 and an average audience of 1,096,000, while Tipping Point Australia reached 1,441,000 and averaged 812,000 viewers.

Over on Seven, Home and Away recorded a national reach of 1,348,000 and an average audience of 996,000, with a further 250,000 watching on BVOD. And Seven’s The Chase Australia also performed strongly, reaching 1,337,000 and averaging 682,000 viewers.

On Ten, The Traitors Australia continued its run with a national reach of 1,101,000 and an average audience of 665,000, including 103,000 on BVOD.

The Cheap Seats followed for Ten, reaching 768,000 and averaging 420,000 viewers.

ABC’s strongest entertainment offering was 7.30, which recorded a national reach of 1,188,000 and an average audience of 743,000, while Tampa: The Turning Point reached 548,000 and averaged 288,000.

Meanwhile, SBS’s Insight recorded a reach of 536,000 and an average audience of 192,000, while Shaun Micallef’s Origin Odyssey reached 478,000 and averaged 224,000.
