10’s comedy outing The Cheap Seats was the broadcaster’s best last night, even pipping The Project that seems to be seriously struggling for viewers of late,

The Cheap Seats pulled 291,000 OzTAM metro viewers, while The Project spluttered to 277,000.

Still, no one came near The Block for entertainment. It pulled 645,000 and easily beat Seven’s Farmer Wants A Wife (465,000) and 10’s Amazing Race (256,000).

Nine held on to win Tuesday with 30.6 per cent of all of last night’s eyeballs (all channels). Seven did 28.4 per cent, the ABC nabbed third with 17.2 per cent, 10 had 15.6 per cent and SBS pulled 8.1 per cent.

Standouts for Nine included its 6pm news bulletin (764,000), ACA (645,000) and The Hundred With Andy Lee (343,000).

Seven’s 6pm news got bragging rights of most watched show of the evening, it did 969,000 – which is a good 200K more than arch-rival Nine’s.

Other highlights for Seven included Home And Away with 526,000, The Chase with 510,000 and, again, Farmer Wants A Wife with 465,000.

Best for the ABC was its 7pm news bulletin (580,000, followed by 7.30 (457,000), Take 5 With Zan Rowe (329,000) and Old People’s Home For Teenagers (327,000).
