The Chase was number two in entertainment, narrowly beating fellow Seven program Home and Away with 558,000 viewers to 556,000, a truly nail-biting finish.
And, Seven was also on top overall with Seven News, which had 1,010,000 viewers. The network also scored 366,000 viewers for SAS Australia – Hell Week.
The Nine network had the number one entertainment show with The Block, which scored 928,000 viewers. Nine News had 967,000, A Current Affair had 706,000, Hot Seat had 416,000, Tipping Point had 314,000 and Love Island Australia had 295,000.
Over on the ABC, the top performer was ABC News with 676,000 viewers, while 7.30 had 482,000 and for those who can almost taste the International Departures terminal, there was The Greek Islands With Julia Bradbury at 398,000 viewers.
For 10 the top performer was The Dog House Australia with 507,000 viewers, followed by The Project with 484,000, The Cheap Seats with 368,000 and 10 News First with 319,000.
The Nine Network won the night overall with 30.9 per cent of the daily share, while the Seven Network had 26.1 per cent and Network 10 had 20.0 per cent. The ABC TV Network had 14.4 per cent and the SBS Network had 8.6 per cent.
Looking now to OzTAM’s Total TV report for Tuesday October 12, Seven News was top with a total audience of 1,546,000 viewers (metro: 935,000, regional: 574,000. BVOD: 35,000), while The Block was second with 1,468,000 total viewers (metro: 846,000, regional: 328,000, BVOD: 203,000). In third was Nine News with 1,241,000 total viewers (metroL 884,000, regional: 324,000, BVOD:33,000).
Once again, the show with the highest lift on overnight was Love Island Australia at a huge 90 per cent, bringing its total audience to 701,000 (metro: 279,000, regional: 90,000, BVOD: 269,000).
