Tuesday TV Wrap: Ninja Enjoys A Rebound, As House Rules Takes The Hit

Talk that this year’s series of Ninja Warrior is on the nose with viewers may be a little premature after last night’s episode enjoyed a rebound.

Ninja had 851,000 viewers last night and was up 20,000 on the previous evening.

But what Ninja appears to be doing is pinching viewers away from Seven and Ten. As an example, House Rules had a disappointing Tuesday night, managing just 692,000.

Ten’s MasterChef was less affected, it posted a respectable 821,000 but still played second-fiddle to Ninja.

Adding to that, Ninja has now given Nine its third win in a row after the network pulled 30.7 per cent audience share last night. Seven had to settle for second and 28.1 per cent, Ten nabbed 18.2 per cent, ABC had 15.6 per cent and SBS pulled 7.5 per cent.

Seven’s 6pm news was the most watched show of the night with 1.073 million viewers. Nine’s news was a slither behind with 1.072 million and more proof the Thai cave rescue has been a boon for the news shows. ACA had a solid night with 883,000.

Seven’s other standouts were The Chase (679,000), while Andrew Denton’s Interview had one of its better nights posting 483,000.

Over at Ten, The Project had 562,000 and Shark Tank was down with 489,000.

Best for the ABC was its 7pm news which enjoyed a Thai cave peak of 778,000. 7.30 had 543,000 and Back In Time For Dinner served up 468,000.
