The world’s largest music democracy, Triple J’s Hottest 100, is right around the corner, and the competition is already shaping up to be closer than ever.
Triple J announced this morning there are currently only five votes separating numbers three and four in this year’s countdown.
The youth radio station also revealed numbers two, three and four had all re-shuffled very recently.
What does this mean? Well, it means your favourite Gang of Youths, or Olivia Rodrigo, or The Kid LAROI banger could be in jeopardy of missing out on the top spot – or even the top five – by the barest of margins.
With polls closing on Monday 17 January at 12pm AEDT, now is as good a time as any to make sure your voice is heard, particularly for the 58,000 who are yet to finish their votes.
Trust me, you don’t want to regret not submitting your picks on time and seeing your favourite track come runner-up to someone like The Ruebens. Woof.
Triple J also announced almost $160 thousand had been raised so far for charity partner, Lifeline, with donations still open and t-shirts still available for purchase from the Triple J website.
