While Network 10 brought something new with Royal documentary Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers, it was Nine who resoundingly won the night.
The Block topped entertainment with 849,000 viewers (as per OzTAM’s metro data), while Nine News was the best performing telly overall with 1,019,000 viewers.
Also on Nine was A Current Affair with 740,000 viewers, Hot Seat with 440,000, Tipping Point with 302,000 and Jack Reacher with 298,000.
Seven’s best performer was Seven News with 1,001,000 viewers, while Home and Away had 565,000 and The Chase had 507,000.
Along with their Royal family story – which scored 338,000 viewers – Network 10 had Gogglebox with 634,000 viewers, The Project with 415,000 and 10 News First with 317,000.
Finally, the ABC Network had ABC News with 686,000 viewers, 7.30 with 533,000, Foreign Correspondent with 414,000 and Sammy J with 340,000.
As foreshadowed earlier, the Nine Network won the night easily with 33.3 per cent of the daily share. The race for second was far tighter, though the Seven Network just beat out Network 10 with 21.9 per cent to 20.5 per cent. The ABC Network, meanwhile, had 15.7 per cent and the SBS Network had 8.7 per cent.
Looking now to OzTAM’s Total TV report for Thursday, September 30th, Seven News was on top with a total audience of 1,675,000 viewers (metro: 1,065,000, regional: 569,000, BVOD: 38,000).
Next was Nine News with 1,449,000 total viewers (metro: 1,043,000, regional: 367,000, BVOD: 38,000), followed by Home and Away with 1,134,000 total viewers (metro: 578,000, regional: 369,000, BVOD: 137,000).
And, it was the late episode of Home and Away which received the highest lift on overnight at 22 per cent, bringing its total audience to 1,071,000 (metro: 521,000, regional: 356,000, BVOD: 139,000).
