Sydney-based independent experience agency The Misfits (publisher of B&T) has seen cracking growth in the past 12 months and welcomed to the stable a host of new clients and a key hire.

Bec Gelao (pictured above) has been appointed as the agency’s new director of commercial, tasked with taking The Misfits’ offering to the next level for its portfolio of clients.

Gelao has over 15 years’ experience working client-side in government and agency side, with exposure to a range of industries including financial services, tech and IT, tourism, retail, automotive, fintech, media and more.

She has worked with leading brands such as Facebook, Dropbox, Instagram and Salesforce, formulating and executing event and content strategy that works effectively across the entire experiential marketing ecosystem.

Galeo’s passion to create outstanding content-led experiences has meant she’s worked on some of Australia’s most prolific events including Salesforce World Tour, Xerocon, TEDxSydney, Australia Day and New Year’s Eve.

“The move to The Misfits gives me the opportunity to grow as a commercial director and refine my skills in creating best-in-class, content-led experiences both online and offline,” she said.

In her time at The Misfits, Galeo has already won work for the likes of HubSpot, Dovetail and Facebook.
